The Holy Spirit In Us

Submitted by Sixto Rosario on Wed, 03/03/2010 - 10:43am

The Holy Spirit dwells in us. He does not “come and go.” He permanently resides within our spirits. (1 Cor 3:16, 6:19) The Holy Spirit also operates within us on a daily basis to help us in all matters of our Christian life. The Holy Spirit works in the following ways:

He convicts us of sin and makes us aware when we are breaking God’s commandments (John 16:8-11).

He lights up the Word of God to us, helping us to understand what we read in the Bible (John 16:12-15).

  • He teaches us the truth about God and ourselves (John 16:12-15).
  • He guides us into right choices as well as service and ministry (Rom 8:14).
  • He assures us that we are born again and are the children of God (Rom 8:16). ? He frees us from the bondage of fear (Rom 8:15).
  • He intercedes on our behalf (Rom 8:26)
  • He arms us with the whole armor of God (Eph 6:11-12).

In this world we do not have the physical presence of Jesus as a role model to be a living picture of how to live. The Holy Spirit reveals to us the right way to live. He also equips us to fight and defeat the enemy of our souls. He assures us that we have victory over an enemy that is already judged and defeated.

Praise God that we are sealed by the Holy Spirit who is constantly at work in us.
